finding purchased ships en>fr fr>en

So I bought a new ship already... pretty cool but I would like to switch back to my other one. Is there any way to know what station I need to go to in order to get my other ship(s) of do I need to keep a log?

Thanks,
Josh

Do not package the ship. Any ship that is assembled and ready-for-use shows up in your ship list wherever you do, and you can click 'use' to transport it to your current station automagically.

I assume this will be tweaked later so that packaged ships can be loaded into cargo and consume space according to their mass, but right now this is the only way to make a profit trading ships. (The druma/sendai anomaly is a good route for this - buy in Druma, sell in Sendai, particularly cruisers and the hades.)

You can load assembled ships into your cargo.
The poblem is that anything bigger than a frigate is way too heavy to fit into a normal cargo hold.

Ahhhh, that's why I've never been able to do that. And that's what the Gaia's for, and why there's a situation where 0 high, 0 mid, and 0 low slots might be worth it. (Come on, though, not even ONE gun? What's that energy core for if I can't even use ONE shield recharger?)

EDIT: Assuming of course, that they ever eliminate that glitch I love so much, with 'use' transporting a ship to your current station.

My advice, though, is never to package a ship until the moment you're ready to sell it. Even then, 'use' it first, to make absolutely sure it's in your location.

I will try to make time tomorrow to check which and how many packaged ships actually fit into the Gaia.
Unless we have an easy way to transport packed ships from one station to another, the "glitch" should definitely stay in, just to make our lives easier.
Having a transport follow you like another wingman would be great, plus it opens all kinds of other interesting possibilities, like resupplying ammunition inflight (check out TIE-Fighter for an example of that), or even changing modules with a specialised refitting/factory ship. Wish I could remember what book I read that in...

Nice.
A packed battleship is 45.000 cubics, so we can fit like 15 into a Gaia and have room to spare.

I also noticed something odd:
In the store, the Gaia is listed with 720k cubics cargo space.
In the Hangar Storage menu, and on the "?" info for the one I just bought, it says 755999.9 cubic metres.
---
EDIT: the cargo capacity rises with your Freighter skill. At Freighter 5, the Gaia has 900.000 cargo hold. The other ship skills do not seem to have this effect.
I wonder what happens with the excess cargo when you use a different ship and the cargo space falls back to 720k .
---

Oh, and the ship graphics do not fit a superfreighter at all. It looks more like a fast attack ship. Something similar to the Gefjun would be better. Ideally, it would look even wider and bulkier, with even bigger engines to visually indicate the sheer power needed to haul this giant whale of a ship around.

I'm starting to do a video for our Kickstarter campaign. We want to raise money to overhaul the graphics, add ship boarding, walking on planets/stations, and add multiplayer... I'll make a separate post on this.

wow you can trade ships? thats what i love about this game it lets you do what you like, so many games out there are "you have to play like this and you have to use this weapon you can't do this because i made the game and i want you to play like this...."

this game allows you to kill pirates to make money, it allows you to mine if you like to harvest stuff like a farmer, it allows you to trade if you don't like killing or farming.

hmmm could i suggest one change though..... i understand that in real life you can't carry everything with you wherever you go but just say all your items are distributed at every station in every system is there a way to pay someone like the cargenti order to courier it back to you say if your home station was Toalla in Washbo that would be cool cause then you wouldn't have to wast time flying around and focus on killing pirates

Oh man I've just re-read my posts and I sound so retarded. I don't normally talk like this, honestly, it's probably just that I'm so excited about the game and I'm not thinking straight and all these ideas are hitting me at once. What I wanted to say before was in Diablo 2 it was fortunate that you could access all your items regardless of which town you were based at and although I understand that in this game it would be silly to have a magic box you could reach into it would be nice if the stations offered you the service of teleporting your items or you could call on taxicon to deliver your goods home for you.

Hello there, and welcome to the forums.
That is an excellent idea, HUYNH_D8, to pay a corporation to get things delivered to you.
To expand on it a bit:
We could actually have several different delivery services on offer.
For example, a company that does not approve of slavery refuses to transport slaves. Another specialises in bulk delivery with huge cargoships, but only among safe systems, because they do not have enough armed forces to protect convois in more dangerous areas.
A third has its focus on speedy delivery...for a higher price, of course.
Then you have a freelancer with a heavily armed small fleet. His prices are reasonable, and he delivers even to Null security systems. But he has no reputation. Do you trust him with a few hundred millions in valuable goods.

What I do as a workaround:
I have one huge cargoship where I store stuff I might need in the future. It is big enough to fit a dismantled Capital ship, with room to spare. And your assembled ships are available everywhere.
